Cover Art and the Table of Contents for "Human for a Day"

July 20, 2011 at 10:31 pm

Jenn Brozek, our fearless leader on the Human for a Day anthology, has posted cover art for the upcoming anthology, as well as the table of contents.  Hooray!  And check out that cover-- is that great or what?

Jenn co-edited the anthology with the late, great Martin Greenberg, the legendary anthologist who passed away just recently.

Six months ago, I posted a little bit about my contribution to the anthology, "The Mainspring of His Heart, the Shackles of His Soul."  I'm delighted to see it listed among works from so many excellent writers.  Of the stuff I've written (relatively) recently, I like this story a fair bit.  I hope to return to the world of the story someday, and flesh out the backstory in a novel.  There's definitely room for it.

This is my second contribution to a DAW anthology.  I've been lucky to have the chance to participate in both of these ventures, and even luckier to find the work so much fun.  Both times I've worried that I wouldn't come up with anything decent that fit the theme of the anthology.  Both times I was surprised (and relieved) to find a story come along without too much pain.

I met Jenn and her husband at the gate at LAX, where we waited to catch our flight from Los Angeles to Melbourne for Worldcon last year.  (Holy cats!  Was that already almost a year ago?  Wow.)  Networking works.  Or, in this case, just being really really lucky.

That is a cool cover. The clock for the eye is a nice effect.
