So today, during lunch, James Patrick Kelly turned to me and said, “You’re just a walking compendium of taglines, aren’t you?”
And David Levine said, “What did he say now?”
What they don’t realize is that I mutter to myself all the time. Jim just had the bad luck to sit next to me this morning. (I’m sure he’s learned his lesson.)
Today’s activiies include an impromptu symposium on techniques for writing open-ended series, and, for me at least, a nap. And if I can fit it in between naps, I’d like to do some hiking today. Or maybe I’ll hike somewhere, nap, and get eaten by a bear.
In my hikes around New Mexico, I have found that a honey-based cologne excels at attracting wildlife.
My favorite is “Bruin’s Best” — sweat-activated, it can communicate an ursine come-hither for miles.
Enjoy that nap!
Say hi to the bear for me!
