The Glamorous Life of a Writer

Posted on October 23, 2011 by eidolon

The writing life is chockablock with thrills.

Take yesterday, for instance.  I worked at my desk from about 8 in the morning until it was time to meet people for dinner.  Or today’s work session, which again started at 8am, with a brief break in the afternoon to fold laundry, sort socks, and update the blog.  Yep, weekends are a thrill-a-minute at the Tregillis household.

That’s beceause I spend most weekends tooling about town in my gold-plated rocket car.  When the writing doesn’t interfere.

As an extremely famous journalist, I can relate. Why, just now I took a break from writing highly impressive commentary to put laundry in the dryer. In a couple of hours, I’ll make chicken for dinner–but not before I have my daily chat with [your favorite celebrity here] and roll about in my millions of dollars just for kicks. It’s more fun than yoga and, little-known fact, money absorbs fat cells if you bury yourself in it daily while humming the Duck Tales theme song.
