Well, gosh. It feels strange and a little bittersweet to say it, but I guess it’s true: with yesterday’s release of Necessary Evil, the Milkweed Triptych is officially finished.
Necessary Evil is now available in hardcover (US), softcover (UK), ebook (US/UK), and audiobook editions.
I’m feeling slightly bemused as I stare at the completed trilogy now sitting on my bookshelf. And feeling more than a little grateful for all the kind words, encouragement, and lovely feedback from readers and colleagues as this new book makes its way into the world.
It’s been a long time coming, but now it’s almost here: the third and final book of the Milkweed Triptych. The concluding volume, Necessary Evil, will hit shelves on Tuesday, April 30 in the US (via Tor) and the UK/Commonwealth (via Orbit). That’s just over three weeks from today!
And to celebrate the publication of Necessary Evil, many very hard working people have put together a brief West Coast signing tour. My first signing tour—I’m amazed, delighted, and more than a little nervous. I’ll also be doing a couple of singings in New Mexico after returning from the Pacific Coast.
I’ve posted the full schedule of my upcoming signings below the cut. (All of the stops are now included in the appearances on my homepage, too.) Feel free to stop by if you’re in the area, or just passing through. I’d love to see some friendly faces! And, if you feel so inclined, please spread the word.
Thanks to the great folks at Orbit Books, the second book of the Milkweed Triptych, The Coldest War, is now out in the UK!
(And to celebrate, 2000 AD is giving away 5 copies of both Bitter Seeds & The Coldest War in their February 6 print issue!)
It’s very exciting to see this book finally make its way across the pond. (And check out that fantastic cover art! Both editions of this book, UK and US, have been favored with terrific covers.)
I’m very pleased that The Coldest War received such a warm welcome when it hit shelves here in the US this past summer. I hope this release brings it into the hands of even more readers, and that folks enjoy the continuing (mis?)adventures of Will, Marsh, Klaus, and whatsherface.
Well, golly. This is a lovely way to close out the year.
It’s that time of year when many folks are putting together their best-of-2012 reading lists. And, gosh, several of those lists include The Coldest War.
I had my first sneak peak at the Orbit UK covers for Milkweed #2 and #3, THE COLDEST WAR and NECESSARY EVIL, last week. And I’ve been bubbling over with excitement ever since. It feels like it was a terribly long wait until the covers were officially revealed, even though it was only a few days.
But anyway! Yes! The entire Milkweed Triptych has cover art for its Orbit editions. And it’s all incredibly awesome. As can be seen here, here, and in close-up here. Man alive, I love these covers.
