My friend and colleague, E. E. Giorgi, is a mathematician by day and a novelist by night. (Keep your eyes open for the Chimeras books. They are destined for great things.) EEG also maintains a blog that features interviews with interesting writers who juggle creative and technical endeavors in different parts of their lives. (Witness the recent interview with multi-award-nominee and writing powerhouse Aliette de Bodard.)
The really fascinating people weren’t available this week, but I did my best to be a decent followup to Aliette’s interview. Our conversation is posted here.
I thank my interview host for making me sound halfway intelligent and coherent. (Let’s add “answer interview questions” to that long list of things I do when the insomnia keeps me up all night.) That probably wasn’t an enviable task.
And speaking of our interview host, I do have to wonder about somebody who seems so nice and normal on the outside yet whose writing shows a vast knowledge of serial killers….
That is a good interview. We do, clearly, need more ice ships.
Thanks for the tip on the Chimera books. I’m quite looking forward to that.
So, I went “AWWWWWW” throughout your post, then came to the end and… laughed out loud, which was okay, because I wasn’t drinking coffee (laughing out loud while drinking coffee tends to be a little harsh on keyboards), but still, I sit in a cubicle, you know, and people hear…
Okay, jokes aside. Thank you, you’re too kind. It was a pleasure to have you over at CHIMERAS. 🙂
You guys are too nice. Thank you, Steve! I also look forward to seeing my book cover on your fantastic blog (I keep reading your reviews and wishing I had 48 hours in a day so I could use the extra 24 to read!), though I should warn you it’s going to be a while… In this biz patience is of the essence.
So I searched “ships made of ice”
The results: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=ships+made+of+ice
You are Number 23.
Peace, Bob
