Okay, so I’m a little giddy this morning. It’s not every day I get to celebrate a book launch. (And the first of two book launches in the same week, no less.)
But today I get to do it, and so I am: Today marks Bitter Seeds’s debut from Orbit UK! Calloo, callay, oh frabjous day.
Hello and welcome, new readers! Information, and many links, reside below the cut.
If you’d like to sample the world of Bitter Seeds, here are two free short stories set in the Milkweed universe: What Doctor Gottlieb Saw takes place between the prologue and Chapter 1 of Bitter Seeds. Chronicle of Sorrows takes place a few months before the prologue. (If “Chronicle…” seems a little bit cryptic, that’s because it was written as part of this game.)
I’m delighted that Orbit UK has chosen to publish the Milkweed books in the UK and Commonwealth. I feel especially lucky, given that these books — primarily about British characters — were written by an American. But Orbit was willing to overlook the unintentional Americanisms that slipped through the book, and I hope readers will, too…
Anyway, like I said: hello and welcome, new readers! I hope you enjoy getting to know Marsh, Will, Klaus, Gretel, and all the rest. They are certainly very happy to meet you.
