For those of us who have been watching the skies and downloading free ebooks (not necessarily in that order), a recent announcement on Making Light sheds some, well, light.
Patrick Nielsen Hayden deactivated the orbital stealth-field here. I’m eager to see this new watering hole/”focal point fanzine” come online. I’ve heard rumors — well, whispers — about some of the content, and if even half of what I’ve heard is true, it’s going to be great. I threw my hat in the ring to be a beta tester, too, but I suspect they’ve been inundated with supplicants…
Speaking of great, this week’s free ebooks are Farthing by Jo Walton and Crystal Rain by Tobias Buckell. I can’t recommend these books highly enough. If you haven’t had the pleasure of reading these authors yet, you’ll become a fan after picking up these books. Seriously. Fantastic stuff.
