Last night’s meeting at the Albuquerque Science Fiction Society was a heckuva lot of fun. For me, at least. Not sure how much the audience enjoyed it, but I sure had a blast. What a terrific group!

Interview with the Speculate! Podcast
it’s July, that month when a young man’s fancy turns toward self-promotion. Or finagling promotion out of other people.
So, yeah, I’m doing quite a lot (by my standards, anyway) of self-promo stuff lately. I feel especially icky about it since this comes on the heels of a long period of desultory blog updates. But this is a busy month! Starting most especially with yesterday’s very exciting UK debut of Bitter Seeds. It feels very meta to me, the way these fictional characters have made it back to their real-world home.
I suppose I should also mention that I finally joined Twitter (@ITregillis). See what I mean about me being hilariously inept at self-promo and social networking? 2 weeks passed before I realized I should mention it.
And three nights ago I did a really fun podcast interview with Brad and Greg from Speculate!
It’s Out: Bitter Seeds Debuts in the UK!
Okay, so I’m a little giddy this morning. It’s not every day I get to celebrate a book launch. (And the first of two book launches in the same week, no less.)
But today I get to do it, and so I am: Today marks Bitter Seeds’s debut from Orbit UK! Calloo, callay, oh frabjous day.
Hello and welcome, new readers! Information, and many links, reside below the cut.
Fun Interview at Interesting Things
My friend and frequent commenter Steve Halter (hi, Steve!) recently interviewed me for his blog, Interesting Things. (I’m not sure if I qualify as genuinely interesting, but I am glad that the subtitle to Steve’s blog isn’t, “What the Hell, I’m Bored and Have Nothing Better To Do.”)
I had fun answering the questions. Steve came up with some pretty clever queries!
It was certainly more fun than the cooking class I took this afternoon, wherein I cut myself about 2 minutes into the 90 minute class.
Becoming a Superhero With tDCS
Transcranial direct-current stimulation (tDCS) has been mentioned here on the blog several times. I’m endlessly fascinated by the subject, and perhaps not surprisingly.
I’m mentioning this because the great folks at Orbit have kindly invited me to write another guest post for their blog; in this one, I speculate at length about DARPA’s not-so-secret plan to create superheroes.
And today marks just one week before Bitter Seeds hits shelves in the UK! And just 12 days before The Coldest War hits shelves here in the US! This is shaping up to be a fun month for me.
