The UK Release of BITTER SEEDS Will Jump Ahead 5 Months

Posted on March 30, 2012May 21, 2022 by eidolon

This just in from the good people at Orbit:  The UK edition of Bitter Seeds, originally scheduled for publication in December, 2012, is moving forward 5 months.  The Orbit edition of the book will now appear on shelves on July 12, 2012.

Golly.  July is going to be a busy month—that’s just 5 days before the US hardcover/ebook release of The Coldest War.  (The updated publication schedule is here.)

This means that cover art will have to be finalized quite soon.  That’s very exciting.  I love getting to see cover art.  I can’t imagine how that could ever get old. I’ve seen a sketch of the concept for Bitter Seeds—it’s very cool!—and we’ve talked a bit about cover ideas for the second and third books.  I guess cover copy will also get finalized very soon now.

This is an exciting change to the publishing schedule!  I can only hope that Marsh and Will find an audience in their own country…

Tim: I’ll admit, for a moment when I first got the news, I had to check my email to make sure something hadn’t slipped through from a parallel universe/Bizarro-world dimension. It’s sort of the opposite of my experiences so far…

Jo: I would never expect my tiny little books to show up on the radar of a multiple Aurealis Award nominee 🙂 You have bigger fish to fry!

Although, now that I think about it a little more, I guess “opposite” isn’t really the right term. I’d say this is the third of three different modes. First, there were delays. Second, things started working really well, with everything going according to schedule. And now it appears phase three is acceleration.

If there is a phase 4, I expect it will involve time travel.

The final phase(s) in any endeavor related to the internet, publishing, mathematical proof or other scurrilous activity is well known to be:
    .

    .
    ?
    Profit!

    LOL!

Of course, as published authors, you and I have already achieved vast fame and fortune. Right?
